Tim Bell is one of the best known figures in the United Kingdom communications industry. He helped found Saatchi & Saatchi in 1970, and as International Chairman he took Saatchi & Saatchi into its position as the first British number one worldwide advertising agency in 1981. Daryl Hannah has been passionate and committed to practicing a low impact lifestyle for over 16 years. From her small footprint, passive and active solar home complete with gray water systems and organic garden, to being an early adaptor of bio-fuels. She has produced, hosted and shot numerous green TV appearances including pieces for CNN International and Good Morning America. Daryl has been a greening consultant for events such as the Virgin Music Festival, attended by over 150,000 people.

Her many speaking
engagements include keynote speeches at the UN Global Business Conference on the environment, the National Bio-diesel Board Conference, Natural and Organic Products Expo, LOHAS and many others.

 

She’s written articles on sustainability for many magazines including Jane, Marie Claire and Veg News to name a few. She designed and films dhlovelife, her website dedicated to sharing solutions on how to live more harmoniously with the planet and all other living things. She sits on the board of the Environmental Media Association, Eco America and the Action Sports Environmental Coalition. Daryl is a documentary and narrative filmmaker, which she has both directed, written and produced. Her short, The Last Supper, won a prize at the Berlin Film Festival among others. She has acted in over forty films since the age of 11. She’s invented board games and toys, keeps bees, rescues stray animals, and loves music, hot springs, wild things and wilderness. She is the founder of the Sustainable Bio-diesel Alliance, which is a certification program for sustainably produced, harvested and produced bio-fuels. Born 20.1.1975 in London, Zac Goldsmith was educated in Britain. He has been the director and editor of The Ecologist magazine for seven years during which time he has transformed the publication from an academic journal into a current affairs magazine without compromising its tough line on environmental and human rights issues.

Published on four continents, The Ecologist has influenced environmental and political agendas across the world since

 

its launch in 1970. Before joining The Ecologist, Zac worked for a number of years with The International Society for Ecology and Culture (ISEC). In 2005 Zac was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party’s Quality of Life Policy group. The Group has a wide brief, with an emphasis on environmental factors that influence quality of life, including transport and housing, food and farming, pollution, biodiversity and the countryside, as well as energy policy and the challenge of climate change.

In between his work with The Ecologist and the Conservative Party, Zac focuses on raising funds for groups around the world dealing with issues ranging from agriculture and energy to climate change and trade. He helped to establish two foundations that derive funds from his own family, and two other foundations that raise funds from elsewhere with a view to distributing them to cutting edge campaign organisations.

Zac has participated in numerous television and radio programmes and his writings have been published in newspapers and journals throughout the world. In 2003 Zac was the recipient of the Beacon Prize for ‘Young Philanthropist of the Year’. Dr Caroline Lucas came into green politics following a long history of active involvement with the anti-nuclear movement. In 1993, she won the first Green Party seat in Oxfordshire, and since 1999 has been one of the UK’s two Green Members of the European Parliament.

Caroline serves on the European Parliament’s International Trade Committee and also on its Environment Committee. She recently steered ground-breaking policy, designed to reduce the impact of aviation on climate change, through the Parliament and has led on issues as diverse as European wide chemical regulation,

 

human rights and peace in Palestine, and opposition to the WTO’s General Agreement on Trade in Services. Her work has been widely recognised through a number of accolades, including an award for services to European Animal Welfare, inclusion in the Environment Agency’s Top 100 Eco-Heroes of all time, and being shortlisted by The New Statesman for its Person of the Year Award in 2006.

Early on in her career, Caroline was a policy analyst for Oxfam and continues to work closely with a wide range of non-governmental organisations. She is also a Director of the renowned International Forum on Globalization and a Matron of the Women’s Environmental Network. David De Rothschild

 

In 2005 David de Rothschild, founded Adventure Ecology an organisation that uses adventure and storytelling to captivate the imagination, raise global mass media awareness and inspire individuals, communities and industry to take positive action for our planet.

His commitment to the environment has sent him on adventures to some of the worlds most remote and fragile regions. In 2006, David spent over 100 days crossing The Arctic from Russia to Canada, which saw him become one of only 42 people, and the youngest British person, to ever reach both geographical poles. Furthermore, the World Economic Forum made David a ‘Young Global Leader’ and most recently in September 2007 GQ (UK and Germany) magazine presented him the accolade of ‘Environmentalist of the Year’

Kane Kramer

Kane Kramer is one of Britain's greatest inventors and acts as technology advisor to ICE Circle.

His most notable invention is the technology behind the MP3 player. He was the first to conceive the idea of downloading music, data and video down telephone lines in 1979 when he was 23. Together with James Campbell they went on to pioneer digital recording and built the world's first solid state digital recorder/players. Kane was recognised by Apple in 2007 for his inventorship and since has acted as expert consultant. Kane's invention of the MP3 player was singled out as the "brains who actually developed the MP3 technology (no it wasn't Apple)" in Sir James Dyson's 'Ingenious Britain' report for Prime Minister David Cameron.


 

Kane's latest invention is Monicall - a system for making conversations into enforceable and legally binding agreements. Kane is the founder of the British Inventors Society (BIS), the British Invention Show and organiser of the British Invention of the Year Awards. Working with inventors for the past 30 years, Kane has advised and assisted inventors to both protect and help them commercialise their ideas.

 


Renu Mehta founded Fortune Forum, a registered charity, in June 2006 to tackle the interdependent global issues of poverty, climate change and diseases; HIV/Aids, Malaria and Cancer. Fortune Forum convenes global leaders, celebrity activists, philanthropists, influential entrepreneurs and media moguls to collectively make a difference.
